[Sheflug] SPAM filters (again)

In all the posts we have had about SPAM filtering did any of the solutions
work on emails BEFORE downloading the full message? I had a quick look but
it seems most download all the messages then parse the whole message to
determine if its spam.

I'm currently getting about 150-200 emails overnight every day (??) and
only a couple tend to be not SPAM. Its not a problem at work where we've
got broadband but I don't want to have to download all the crap in order to
process it and then bin it, especially as I don't have and currently can't
get broadband at home. Do any SPAM filters work just on subject lines /
addresses / dates and other information that can be retrieved without
downloading the whole mail (message body + attachments etc)?
