Admittedly its not Linux, GNU, free (beer or speech) or even open source but
I'm mentioning it here because if people are using Wind00ze and have a SPAM
problem using this software might give you more line to play with Gnu/Linux.

You should take a look at mailoverseer (www.mailoverseer.com).  It uses
Bayesian anti-spam analysis and will delete from the server without
downloading (allegedly).  Its free for 30 days then costs ~$30 and might be
worth it.

Big advantage over Mailwasher is its self teaching filters.

I'll post more when I've used it for a while.
