I'm using Mandrake 9.2 with the 2.4.21 (I think) kernel from 9.1 (I'm using a hacked usb-storage module which the 9.2 kernel doesn't like). The cheap'n'cheerful Realtek card worked fine, sat at (I believe) IRQ5. Quite why Linux decides it wants to see the card at IRQ17 I'm not sure, but cat /proc/pci definitely shows it as being there. As there's no change in the hardware between reboots, and that Win98 & XP both pick the card up at irq 11 (the BIOS boot screen also shows it to be at that location) I can only reluctantly point the finger at the kernel p'n'p services.

I'm due another exceedingly cheap (£1.98!!) NIC from eBuyer shortly so I may hold out until that arrives & give it a blast.

Paul.
