but not the ip addresses of the domain name servers (ones quoted are for
dial up although they appear to work fine for broadband).

no, not your general support person and not for arbitrary enquiries. 
But supporting hardware firewall users could be done better I believe,
there could be more online information. A linux firewall should be more
secure than a windows one, especially just a software solution. 
Actually they also say they don't support home networks at all.
