The website design they say they really like is along the lines of www.matthewalgie.com
Its strong in its colours, its simple and it gets the message across. I think the design is good. Many people (and I'm making no accusations here) associate good design with flash, shockwave, animations, fade transitions, and technically more complicated stuff normally associated with computer artists (for example http://www.4-walls.com/ which I think is very good as a design company website but not appropriate for your local plasterer or plubmer who wants to give a portfolio of his previous jobs and provide a means of contact). The simplicity of the Matthe Algie site I think makes this a good site that has its design targetted well for the intended audience. I'm sure the appreciation of website design should be on another mailing list.
