RE: [Sheflug] Incoming /outgoing mail archives

There are many IMAP servers such as

Showing my ignorance but do these servers above sit on top of exim or
whatever server or are they stand alone? My whole solution will be to have
incoming mail collected every 10 minutes or so and screened for spam with
spamassasin or similar and viruses with [suggestions]. The spam will be
kept in a separate location for a month then deleted (just incase). Client
PCs will be able to send email via the server and a log of outgoing emails
kept as well. It really would be nice to have an offline copy of the emails
stored on my laptop so I can still see them when away from my home network.
