[Sheflug] Print Job Management

Hello All,

At Access Space we're having some issues with printing - while most
people are nice and considerate, a few print out huge documents and
queue up dozens of things to print at the start of the day, blocking the
printer for everyone else, as well as using lots of paper and ink!

We're using a CUPS print server - so we can administer jobs through the
http interface - but I don't want to do that by hand, it's
time-consuming - I'd much rather find a system that automatically shares
out printing fairly, perhaps by prioritising short documents over long
ones, or maybe by putting a per day page limit on users.

Does anyone know of a good print management system that can hold down
number of pages printed, prioritise some users over others (we could
have a "blacklist" of antisocial participants, whose print jobs have low
priority) and/or make other more subtle decisions about printing other
than simply ALLOW/DENY.

At the moment I don't even know what to google to find out more. Any
pointers would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

James
