There's a little program called pmfirewall that you can download and run
that will configure the linux firewall(IPChains or IPTables, depending on
your kernel version) automatically. This includes setting up IP Masquerading
rules in the firewall to do exactly what you want...
I've used it a number of times on various systems for exactly that reason
and never had any trouble with it...
