[Sheflug] Printing problems NT4 / LTSP
Ok, it's a bit hairy, but here goes...
We've completed roll-out of a handful of LTSP clients and server to our
shop floor. No problems, everything working well and the guys on the
shop floor are happy.
We need to print from an NT box to the parallel printers attached to the
LTSP clients. No problem, I thought. Wrong. The LTSP boxes only support
direct TCP printing on port 9100. NT4 only supports LPR printing.
We identified the problem, so I thought one solution would be to spool
the prints from the NT4 server via LPR to the LTSP server then use that
to resubmit them (in effect) to the LTSP client.
The NT server loses the job, but it seems to get lost between the LTSP
server and the clients, and certainly nowt comes out on the client. Has
anyone (Seb perhaps) had similar problems? Do you think we're going the
right way about trying to solve the problem?
I'm open to suggestions (as always).
