I'm using ClamAV (www.clamav.net). Using a third party script, (named
clamassassin), it's called from my procmail config and tags virii 
allowing straightforward filtering.

ClamAV seems quite good - it's picking up a large number of crud that's
getting through to me. It also comes with a daemon that you can set up 
for it to automatically update the virus signatures every $configurable
amount of time.
