[Sheflug] Mandrake 10CE not booting into X

Hi Guys

Got home from a weekend away last night and turned my machine on and it
failed to boot into X. It seemed to hang on looking for an ntp server at
Strathclyde Uni, then dumped me out to a text based login screen. I logged
in as myself and then typed startx, this failed with a load of errors
relating to nvidia drivers.

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the nvidia drivers but I kept getting
error messages. What is the best way to approach this problem??

Sorry I can't be more explicit but it was late and it is all from memory!!
(I am at work on winxp)

Steve

Just a thought - I had updated from the MDK site a few days ago, but didn't
download the new kernel source as I only have a freeserve hometime account
(two hours on then you get kicked off) and it was 178mb, could this be the
problem?? My source rpms were form the original CDs
