I have found that most HP printers work OK. I use a HP Laserjet 1100 and 
colour HP 1120C bubblejet with an external multi port JetDirect print 
server (they are not cheap though). Connect the JetDirect box to your 
network and give it a static IP then connect the printers with parallel 
cables - it works perfectly with SuSE 9.1, Mandrake 10 and RedHat 9
