There is a commercial package, I think called Turboprint www.turboprint.de
if memory serves correctly.

They have drivers for a huge range of printers where the manufacturers dont
provide Linux ones.

And there is a demo download to check if your printer works with the package
before buying.

I haven't used it yet though, so I can't comment on it performance wise.

I have a Canon i965 USB printer which I intend to try out with this package
later.

If a commercial package like this is an option for you, it may increase the
printer choices you have available.

I'll report back with my results in a few days hopefully.
