Since the hard disc failing in our mail server I am considering fitting two
IDE drives,
and using Software RAID, the only thing is, I am limited to two ide buses,
the raid how-to
stresses one drive per bus. I was wondering if I could connect the dvd and
CDRW drives
as slaves to the two hdd`s without causing problems.

Or am I as well off installing one drive, making sure I have a good backup
strategy and keeping the
second drive as a spare?

I am running SuSE 9.1 on this box if it helps.
