The contents of /etc/fstab would help. I've had no problems automatically
mounting smb mount (as long as there's no password) using the following
line:
//computer/share /mnt/share smbfs workgroup=MYWG,guest,uid=user,gid=group
0 0
Note that in v2.6.8.1 of the kernel, it ignored the uid, gid, fmode and
dmode arguments in smbfs, a patch is available at:
