There was a thread about this a while ago it but didn't seem to reach a 
conclusion.

I would like to do a demo of video-conferencing using Linux on Thursday night 
this week to our local community. Anyone have any suggestions about USB or 
other webcams which I might buy to make this work? We have two Labtec Webcam 
Pro cameras working OK with Windows, but can't seem to get anywhere on Linux 
with them.
