I find the best way to cure OS blindness like this is to tell them I'm
running X-Windows with a silent X - then both ends of the conversation
are happy ;)
When your connection is down, can you have someone try and traceroute to
you? I asked a friend to look at my connection on Friday (through Zen)
and interestingly, the last hop was a couple of hosts before the edge of
the Zen network - might at least tell you where the breakage is.
