If you use Outlook because you have an Exchange server at the other
end, then you will need to use Evolution with the Exchange plugin, if
you want to use the fancy Groupware stuff that's built into Exchange
(and very good indeed.)
If you use Exchange at the other end, but don't use the groupware
stuff, then you can get (ropey) IMAP support working on the exchange
server and use any mail client which supports IMAP (my laptop is
currently picking up work email this way whilst I'm out of the office).
If you don't use exchange at the other end, it probably doesn't matter
what client you're using to pick up your mail, assuming you're using a
standard pop3 or imap server.
