I notice Sun have made Solaris 10 available for download on their site.
Its quite a big download 3 or 4 cds worth. Just wondering if anybody
has ever used it and if it is worth downloading.
I've found some problems with it. Normally that's just that it seems to
loop on the installation and I can't seem to run anything.
The hardware support is good for machines that's aren't cutting edge,
not quite linux maybe, certainly on a par for FreeBSD, great for older
machines.
I found it quite clunky, memory can be an issue sometimes and last time
I used it, there wasn't a compiler in there by default, so you have to
piddle around finding gcc binaries before you can do much good with it.
I think my last working install lasted about 20 minutes before I got
bored and trashed it :/
