Re: [Sheflug] web pages incorrectly displayed

Using SUSE 10.0, I get some web pages that have the images partly superimposed over the text. This happens in both firefox and konqueror. Can this be corrected? I've tried the same site using firefox in win2000 and the pages look fine. So, I assume that this is a linux or SUSE problem, or because the author was using a microsoft tool, the microsoft operating system compensates for errors? (or maybe I've got something set wrong).
Browser incompatibility issues.

I have tried looking through the posts on the mozilla site for some time with no luck (I've not exhausted it yet, 1000's of posts). The only mention I've found is, if pages are not rendered properly, it's probably down to the gecko engine but doesn't tell you what to do.
Browser incomparability issues arise from time to time. There isn't a lot you can do about it bar fix the browser code of course. Many sites out there are written to work with Internet Explorer and won't work very well with Firefox Opera Konqueror and I also have noticed differences between site behaviour between Windows and Linux browsers. This is not uncommon.

I've tried changing identity in konqueror but that doesn't solve the problem either.

Best thing to do is keep a list of the sites that cause problems, and then run with the nightly Firefox builds to see if it's fixed yet.

Of course if it's any site that you have under your control then make sure it works properly on different browsers on different platforms.
