I would have thought you would have to remove player, install server and then 
import the virtual machine. You need to remember that server is still in beta 
right now too. I haven't had chance to use player yet, but I am using server.

It is great for stuff like my GCC 4 rebuilt Gentoo, using KDE 3.5.1 and 
modular xorg. It also lets us test stuff in multiple environments to make 
sure it works for users, although someone should fund buying us all an extra 
hard drive! :P
