I have been running vmware-server quite successfully since it came out in 
beta. The intention was always to keep it free - I thought everyone knew. It 
works great on my dual core amd64 desktop and my turion based laptop. I can 
now boot up Linux in a nice little virtual cage when I absolutely have to ;)

PS When is the next ShefLUG meeting? Haven't seen anything advertised...
