I back up to dvds every 6 months or so. I've just bought a linkstation
NAS box and plan on flashing the firmware so I can put debian on it and
use rsync and cron to do nightly backups in addition to the DVDs.

I think nearly all GAIM work stopped while they worked on GAIM2 which
has took a long time but has had several betas out now, and from memory
should be out quarter one next year.
