Ah - if that's your problem, then it's easy to resolve (or at least it 
was for me): reboot the cable modem. The CM seems to cache or at least 
track the MAC of the card connected to its port. So if you change NICs, 
power the CM down, make sure you've got the new NIC wired to the CM, and 
after about half a minute, restart the modem.

Done this a couple of times as I've gone through a couple of wireless 
routers and decommissioned an OBSD firewall - each time having to reboot 
the CM to resolve.
