[Sheflug] Looking for some help
Dear All
I've taken on as much work as I can fit into my working day and can see
some opportunities that I'd like to pursue. It looks like the best way to
do this is to pass some of the work onto someone else so I can free up my
time. Not having done much of this before, I'm not sure of the best way to
go about it but if anyone's interested I'd be happy to hear from you.
The work is custom websites (mainly for schools) and the moodle virtual
learning environment. The essential skills needed are php, sql (mysql),
html and css. Useful skills would be javascript, perl, wml, Linux system
administration and experience with moodle.
There's ongoing work to develop the administration (ie content management
system) and wml side of a medium-sized website, and as a completely
separate activity there's all aspects of supporting a moodle installation
at a school in Sheffield (resource development, training, code hacking,
upgrades, integration with the school's windows network, server
administration etc). There are also various other smaller websites.
The area I'd like to investigate extending into is support for moodle in
schools in Sheffield, and to do this I need to free up some of my own
time.
I'm not in a position to offer a full-time job, but I'd like to offer
contract work for some of the above jobs or discuss teaming up with
someone or some people, or find some other mechanism by which I can
realise my Messianic ambition to convert the world to open source software
by providing support services to Moodle users in Sheffield.
If anyone's interested or can advise on how I might develop things, I'd be
delighted to hear from you.
All the best
David
