[Sheflug] php stock management software
Dear All
I've been asked to implement something for a school's music department
that will allow them to track what pupils have bought through them. The
way things work on the ground are
1. The school buys in various things (eg violin strings, sheet music,
concert tickets), either so they can have them in the cupboard or becuase
a pupil has specifically asked for it
2. The school then sells these on to the pupils, or might just keep it in
the cupboard if the pupil's changed their mind, or it might just be
general stock (eg oboe reeds, music stands)
I had a look at oscommerce (an online shop), but this is designed for
shoppers to come and register themselves manually, whereas this system
needs to be administered by a few administrators who can add pupils (in
various departments) and keep the system updated with who's ordered what,
needs to be charged for what etc
It feels like a very common setup - it must happen all the time in
industry (probably not with oboe reeds!). Can anyone point me in the right
direction or tell me what the thing is I'm looking for. Is it 'asset
management', 'stock control' or something else
Thanks
David
