Someone suggested snapping them. I know it's effective, but the last time I tried that, I ended up with shards of plastic (it probably isn't plastic, but I'm no materials scientist!) flying everywhere which could constitute a H&S issue in some environments and may be a danger to unprotected eyes. I won't be attempting that trick again.
