You don't even need to install that, ':compiler perl' should set up the
:make command for you. There's support for PHP, Ruby, and a whole host
of other languages included as well.

On a side note, I recently discovered the ^O and ^R commands in Insert
mode. I'm not sure how I survived without them now!
