Funnily enough, I was playing about with Gnome on an old Vaio laptop
last night on which the sound didn't work. I sorted it by manually
loading the kernel module to verify then changing the boot config (using
YAST in my case) once I knew it was all OK. I've just been looking to
see if I could identify the module on my desktop but it's not on the
disc. If it's any help, I'll have a look over the weekend and get back
to you.
