I wouldn't actually buy a pre-made NAS. It's always better to do-it-yourself.

1. Couple of Terabyte Seagate SATA drives, either configured as mirror or striped.

2. A VIA EPIA mini-ITX board has very good energy consumption. A long the lines of 12 watts at full load for the CPU.

3. Don't know about this, my board isn't especially noisy though. As long as your not sleeping near it...

The above is basically what my family uses for a NAS server and Internet gateway, has worked really well for years.
