[Sheflug] IET - Ultra High Speed Broadband Event

The IET South Yorkshire Network would like to draw your attention to 
the following events:

                            Ultra High Speed Broadband

Wednesday, 16 September 2009 - 6 for 6.30pm until 9pm
The Council Chamber, Town Hall, Barnsley  S70 2TA - (Access by the 
main (front) entrance - facing Church Street).

The South Yorkshire Digital Region Project has been developed by 
Yorkshire Forward and the Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster & Sheffield 
Local Authorities. The partners have raised European, regional, local 
& private investment in excess of £90m and the project, which is now 
managed by Digital Region Ltd.(DRL), is expected to stimulate 
significant job creation within the area.  Thales Transport and 
Security Limited (Thales) have been appointed to deliver, manage and 
operate the state of the art fibre optic cable infrastructure. Thales 
leads a consortium which includes Alcatel-lucent and KCOM Group.
Speakers from Barnsley MBC and Thales will discuss the logistics, 
practical and technical aspects of the project.  This event is free 
and open to members of the IET, non-members and the general public.  
However, registration is vital for catering, security and general
