" Google's Chromium project announced it is working on its first 64-
bit version of its Chrome web browser, which will will arrive first on Linux. Meanwhile, Linux is increasingly driving development of 64-bit software -- simply because Linux power users are demanding it, says an industry blog. "

I've been using 64-bit desktop Linux for two years. It was a bit wobbly at first but it's rock solid now. Don't know about Chromium as a web browser though. It's still in its earlier stages and might not be what you want for everyday use.

Are there any apps you can't get in 64 bit that would be a stopper for anyone stepping up from 32 bit to 64 bit?

I keep thinking about doing it but last time I looked, ages ago, flash and similar were too flaky to make the transition worthwhile.
