Not that I'm aware of. Used to be an issue but not any more. I use
AMD64 hardware myself. If you do have problems download the
source of the app in question and convert to RPM or DEB with Alien.
Your version of Linux will have an installable package for this ......

It's rock solid now for Ubuntu and Debian. Other distros seem to be
good as well. If you do run into any problems ask questions here.
