Can anyone recommend any Linux Sys Admin training courses for a
Linux n00b in or around Sheffield?

If there isn't any, wouldn't that be a good sign to start one?
I tried to start some years ago. So much rubbish fell down the back of
my neck when I tried to do it that I gave up. Too much hassle. Same
problem with community Wi-Fi.

In the absence of anything else we use this list to ask questions and
the Phorum. Which more or less works. For anything else see ..

That was how most of us learned the first few steps. Other than that
Running Linux or Linux in a Nutshell from O'Reilly. Plenty of other
books out there. See also...

Years ago when I first had to do something with Linux I worked my
through the then-current edition of Running Linux. In addition, today
there is so much information on the internet that if you run into a
problem you can usually find the answer very quickly. As long as
you've got another computer that can connect, of course.
