[Sheflug] ipvs / NLB and frontends...
Hi all,
Does anyone have experience of using Linux as a network load balancer?
Doing some poking about, looks like I need to go down the ipvs[1] route -
however what would also be useful is a graphical config tool. What I'm
looking at configuring up is the one-network LVS-NAT as defined at [2].
{background} basically I need to get a couple of servers load balanced
(both short-lived http as well as long-term tcp connections) in a test
envrionment, except that I want to hand over the gubbins of configuration
over to another team. No-one in other team really knows much UNIX, and
networking knowledge is working but not too advanced. However I trust them
not to screw something up if I tell them "you want to do {this} and {this}
and it'll just work" (and it makes the "this" easier if it's entering
stuff into a GUI). It's basically a case of minimising the amount of
support I need to do for them whilst giving them enough flexibility to get
things working themselves without shooting themselves in the foot (and
bringing the test network down in the process) too quickly :-)
Ta :-)
