Sam is absolutely right, of course. There are plenty of books available
online - some are even published in both formats, witness Voices from the
Open Source Revolution. I generally find the problem with the online
documentation is that it is very jargonful (! is that a word??), although
it gets better all the time. I particularly like the KDE docs: the
formatting, look'n'feel of it, etc., is all so uniform, it's a joy to use:
that's how man pages ought to be done!

We linux users are almost overwhelmed these days with cheap books as well,
which is good - personally, I usually prefer having something in portable
dead tree format as well as online ;)
