The makefile is passing an argument to gcc that it doesn't understand.
You could try make menuconfig for a text mode config system, but I believe
that uses the same flag too. If it still doesn't work try updating your gcc.

Try looking at http://www.rpmfind.net to see what they have in the way of gcc
RPMS.

(2.95.2 is the latest version BTW, and I can compile kernels fine with it)
