I presume you mean the black stuff around the screen? And that you don't
want to alter the settings of the monitor 'cos of Windows?

The X-Jedi use a program called 'xvidtune'. May I express my usual
concerns and warnings: may blow up old monitors, yada yada ;)) Basically,
this will tweak your timings for you. So if you don't know a front porch
from a colour burst, you'll more likely succeed with this thing than
altering the clock timings directly.
READ THE MANUAL FIRST THOUGH.
Then read it again.
And then again ;)
Then sleep on the matter. If feeling adventurous, try it. When monitor
explodes violently don't blame me ;)))

PS. It's not really that dangerous, esp. with modern monitors. Just make
sure you understand what you're doing. It's simpler to use the controls on
the monitor, honestly ;)
