Have a look at http://www.bt.co.uk/ADSL

I used their exchange check system to check my own exchange for the
Walkley area.  That includes part of Sheffield University as well.  It
fringes on my area.  BT's system tells me that ADSL won't be available
for me until June of this year.  And of course, they don't mention the
silly prices that they are charging.
