portsentry and ffingerd problems.

 Hullo again,

I`m running portsentry which detects portscans and blocks/rejects ip
packets of the targetting machine, and logs this.

It all seems OK, except for the fact that I get this message in
/var/log/messages every 10 minutes:

 Mar 5 18:46:02 shaitan inetd[13739]: auth/tcp: bind: Address already
in use

this happens when I am both on- and off-line.

Any ideas what is causing this?

The other problem is ffingerd, which is a replacement for the standard
finger that I`m playing with.
I am always getting the following message in answer to a finger
request:

[baz@shaitan baz]$ finger baz [at] shaitan
[shaitan]
That user does not want to be fingered.

Now, that should only happen if I had a ~/.nofinger file - which I
don`t.

Ideas anyone? Or even suggestions of a tried and tested finger
replacement.

 Cheers.

 Baz.
