Lame is *good* -- there are links to pre-patched code from the site. However,
what I would recommend is gogo. gogo is based on lame, but has large chunks
written in assembler...it also takes advantage of MMX/3dNow instructions...on
my P200MMX, I can get real time enconding. Quality wise, I've had problems
trying to hear a problem with the results...it is good...I'd say better than
bladeenc for most cases (lame is better than bladdenc...I've compared it to a
few things as well). gogo can be obtained from:
	http://homepage1.nifty.com/herumi/gogo_e.html

You'll need nasm (available from any decent Linux FTP site) to be able to
build it (due to all the assembler code).
