I'm happy enough with LAME for now, but I would like a working
slicer/dicer (I record my lectures, then MP3 them, but 75 minute
lecture is still 15MB+). mp3asm doesn't work right (you can truncate
with it, but picking up from a later frame doesn't work with LAMEd
MP3s because there are no spurious empty frames for mp3asm to copy,
and voice data seems to always give underruns, so you need a pad frame
at the start).
For now I'm using dd, but that just doesn't sit right with my basic
"do it right, or not at all" principles....
