Sendmail & SuSE

Hello all,

For those having trouble with sendmail, and happen to be running SuSE
Linux, you may be interested to know that there is a nice check-box style
Sendmail config screen hidden away in YaST (no more editing rc.config). It
is very simple to create a dial-on-demand or permanent SMTP connection
using it.

To get there, go to:
	System Administration
		Network Configuration
			Configure Sendmail
				Expert mode for Sendmail.cf

Then, for my dial-up, I entered this info:

Domain for local delivery:	localhost
Host for outward e-mail: smtp: <your ISP>
Host for all e-mail: <leave blank>

Only place mail in queue	[X]
No canonify host names [X]
Start sendmail as SMTP daemon	[X]

Command line parameters:	-bd -os
Domains which can be modified
 in the ge: <leave blank>

And thats it. This will ensure that a dial up connection is NOT started
every tiome you send mail, but IS when you run sendmail -q.

Hope this is helpful to someone,

Craig
