Re: Mor on cheeplinux...
Hi chaps and chapesses,
I just installed Mandrake 7 off the PCplus cover disk and it went like a
dream. I've put it on a P100 on a buggy old motherboard that RH5.2 and SUSE
6.3 both complained at and it didn't bat an eyelid. Neither did it get upset
at the Rage II + DVD graphics card that RH6.1 wouldn't set up properly or
the grotty old ethernet card. Its just all so sweet its untrue! All I have
to do now is find out how to get it to show decent colours in the terminal
window - for some reason when I do an 'ls -r' it gives me
directories/folders in light blue and files in a very pale green which is
almost impossible to see. So far this is definitely the best version of
linux I've seen and should be very attractive to newcomers and ease their
transition from windows.
I'll probably be a bit quiet for a few days as my wife is in the Hallamshire
with heart problems so I'm not getting much time on the machines.
