Re: 2.2.13 - modules - failed dependancies
Yep - make dep && make clean && make bzImage && make modules && make
modules_install
I'd like to replace the source tree with a virgin (ie,
non-vendor-bastardised) one, but I've been told I can't do
that...unfortuantly I was on holiday last week when they had the meeting to
discuss what we were going to do with the server (config and setup, upwards),
so I can't really do much about it. Part of the reason, I think, is to ensure
we still have DELL support for it (which, to be honest, means jack - they
said the Sony tape wouldn't work properly with Linux as it has a lun per tape
slot, and Linux didn't support it &c, but I've got the thing working - and it
only uses two lun's...see earlier post).
I may try a make mrproper, and blast /lib/modules away fully to ensure its a
clean clean install. It seems at time some people in management would rather
blame a vendor and waste both time and money when I could get the thing
running smoothly in an hour or so, saving them a lot of money. Ah well...ours
is not to reason why...
