Re: ip routing
Hi Russ,
Where are the files you altered in windoze? I suspect the problem I am still
having may be related to this. In my case I can ping around the network
using the IP numbers but, for some reason, the windoze box won't recognise
one of the linux boxes by name. As far as I can see all the 'hosts,
hostname, hosts.allow' etc. files on the linux box are set up right so it
may just be windoze being awkward. (Windoze does talk to the other linux
boxes by name, its just this one it has sent to Coventry!)
re: you p.s. - if you don't have the kernel source and kernel headers files
in the right directory the 'make menuconfig' (or 'make xconfig' as I use)
can't work as it has nothing to work with. Get fresh sources from kernel.org
and start anew.
