Re: [Sheflug] strange happenings



NO NO NO NO!!! Don't get rid of that! When you install SO to your home
directory, it only copies about 3.7Mb of stuff, such as a personal work
folder and a pile of links to /opt/Office51. The actual software actually
resides in /OPT.

This is so that as many people as you like can run SO on a machine, each
with their own personal settings, work folder, etc. and still only have
one 170Mb lump of software on the HDD.

To get an icon as root (you'll need so install it to set up the
printers) log in as root, and run /opt/Office51/bin/setup

This will do everything for you.

Oh, btw, did you select workstation install, not local install, didn't
you. Local install DOES copy all 100+Mb of Office51 to your home
directory, thus making two copies. The workstation install copies only the
small bit.
