Re: [Sheflug] Can't get permission

Hello all.

Thanks to Matthew and Rush for trying to help me with my problems of not
getting permission.

I *was* typing root in lower case. In the end I gave up and re-installed
SUSE 6.4. All is now well as far as "permission" is concerned. Goodness
knows what the problem was. As far as I knew, it was a straight install from
YAST2, and don't remember doing anything I shouldn't. I hate these problems
which are cured without knowing what caused them.

I'm sorry that I couldn't get to the demo this week. I would have liked to
have come, but I had family commitments. Any way, I wouldn't have been able
to bring my computer for you to have a go at solving the problem. It would
be awkward bringing a tower on the Supertram, (to say nothing of a 17"
monitor!!) Only joking about the monitor.

Richard, I have looked at the Libranet site and it looks a very good distro.
Could you let us know what you think about it? Unfortunately I will be away
on holiday for the next meeting, or else I would have liked to have seen it
in operation. Are there any demo CDs available from Libranet? I couldn't see
anything about this on their site. At about £18, it's a real bargain.

Best wishes

Keith
