The graphics card works, as you said. However, without proc/pci, how the
hell was X supposed to use it?
If you want to check the kernel, why not run 'make menuconfig', or copy
the config file from a backup (waddya mean no backup...) or original
disks.
You can't blame someone for the death of a system which, lets be honest,
was fairly naffed anyhow. It seems that the whole system was configured
for an ISA based 386 or 486 system. Not good.
Oh yes, and we all know the monitor was screwed. And that the graphics
card wasn't. And everything else. So lets stop blaming each other and
start fixing stuff like we're supposed to, eh?
