When you typed 'make install', as I presume you did at some point, did you
get any error messages? Also, did you do the install as a user or root?

On my e-mail program, it looks like you've written Id.so.conf (with an
eye), rather than ld.so.conf (with an ell). Similarly, the command is
'ldconfig', not 'Idconfig'.

A case of mistake identity, I think ;). Firstly, make sure that the
compilation is okay (i.e., a libjpeg thingy is present after you 'make'
the sources), and that it is installing okay. You can always copy it
manually, and make the symlinks with 'ln -s <1> <2>'.
